As of September 2016 this tunnel is closed to the public with no lighting and it bends in the middle so you can't see one end from the other. There's a bypass for the Redbank Rail to Trail which goes up the hill on the southern part of it.
The bypass is very steep. I was disappointed to find the tunnel closed and turned around when I got to the second steep hill on the bypass. And on the other side of New Bethlehem, just outside of town going east, the trail is so rough that you can't bike on it.
